Under this common admission scheme, students will spend their first semester taking courses common to all engineering disciplines. These courses prepare students for their engineering curricula, covering fundamental topics such as mathematics and computer programming. Furthermore, students enroll in general engineering courses from selected departments that lay the foundation for their future studies. These courses also serve as an introduction to the respective engineering discipline to guide students in their final choice of engineering programme.

Towards the end of the first semester, students will declare their choice of engineering programme. Within the our department, students may choose from the four BEng programmes in Computer Engineering (CE), Electronic and Communications Engineering (EComE), Electrical Engineering (EE), and Information Engineering (InfoE) according to their interests.
