CW Cheung has worked with a number of leading telecom operators, service
providers, vendors, government and regulatory agencies and management
consultancies in the Greater China and Asia Pacific region for more than 27
years. He is an industry expert in a full array of fixed, mobile and wireless
telecom operations encompassing industry competitive analysis, market entry
strategy, strategy planning, telecom policies and regulation, business
management and business operations management.
CW’s consulting experience in fixed and mobile telecom operations include
ICT policies & regulation, multi-play & fixed mobile convergence, next
generation network and convergence developments, next generation wired
and mobile broadband networks, wireless access technologies, mobile and
3G launch strategies, multimedia and value added services, business models,
service development and pricing, and customer service developments.
Prior to joining Ovum, CW held senior positions in both the private and public
sectors including working for ex HK Telecom/PCCW (as Senior VP), PCG
Consulting (as Consulting Partner), and some leading international
management consultancies such as ATK and BAH in Greater China.
CW has B.Sc.(Hons) in Electronics/Computer Science and M.Sc in ECommerce
Technology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, MBA
(Distinction) from the Hong Kong University, DIC and M.Sc(Eng) (Distinction)
in Communication Engineering from the Imperial College of Science,
Technology & Medicine, London University. CW’s professional qualifications
include certified management consultants of CMC (IMC, USA) and CPCM
(NBCC), FHKIoD, MiHRM, MBCS, CITP, MHKIE, MIE.Aust, CPEng.
CW has been appointed as the overseas senior adviser to the strategy board
of the China Mobile Communication Association (CMCA) since October 2005,
honorary consulting advisor of Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry
Association (WTIA), and the honorary lecturer in higher degree courses in
telecoms management, government policies and regulation in the Hong Kong
University since 2007. |
