B.Eng. (First Class Honors), Computer Science, HKUST, November 1994
M.Sc., Electrical Engineering (Computer Networks), USC, December 1997
Ph.D., Computer Engineering, USC, December 2000

Dr. Leung received the B.Eng. degree in Computer Science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, in 1994, the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering (Computer Networks) and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, CA, USA, in 1997 and 2000, respectively. He was a member of the team that won the Fourth ACM (Hong Kong Chapter) Scholastic Programming Contest, Hong Kong, in July 1994. He participated as an alternate team member to the 1994-1995 19th Annual International Collegiate Programming Contest (Contest Finals), Nashville, TN, USA, in March 1995. He worked as Senior Research Engineer at Nokia Research Center, Nokia Inc., Irving, TX, USA during 2001 and 2002, and was involved in the design, standardization, and implementation of a signalling payload compression protocol architecture used in wireless networks. He was Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, USA between 2002 and 2005. Currently, he is Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), Hong Kong.
