Research Interests

Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics.

Dr. C.Q. Chang received the B.Sc.(Eng.) and the M.Sc.(Eng.) degrees in electronic engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 1992 and 1995, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2001. Since 2002, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, and is now a Research Assistant Professor.

His research interests are in the areas of signal processing and machine learning with applications in biomedical engineering and bioinformatics, in particular statistical signal processing, blind signal processing, brain computer interface, event related brain potentials, and computational systems biology.

Dr. Chang is a member of IEEE. He is a reviewer for Briefings in Bioinformatics, Proceedings of IEEE, IEEE Trans on Signal Processing, IEEE Trans on Neural Network, IEEE Trans on Circuits and Systems, IET Signal Processing, EURASIP Journal on Applied Signal Processing, Digital Signal Processing, and various international conferences. He was a TTPC member of ICCCAS 2005 and 2008, and organizing committee co-chair of ICMEI 2007. He is on the Editorial Advisory Board of The Open Spectroscopy Journal.
