General Qualifications for Admissions
The basic qualification necessary for admission to postgraduate studies, whether by research or coursework, is a good honours degree from HKU or an equivalent qualification from comparable institutions. In addition, certain degree courses have more specific requirements. Qualifying examinations to test the applicants' abilities to follow the prescribed courses and/or interviews may be conducted. Applicants with qualifications other than an honours degree will be considered on their individual merits.

Application Procedures
HKU Postgrad ProspectusYou can submit your application in the following format:
1. Soft-copy application
Completed applications should be returned to the Academic Services Enquiry Office together with supporting documents and the receipted pay-in-slip covering the application fee of HK$300 (non-refundable) paid in cash to any branch of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd.
Overseas applicants should pay the application fee by a Hong Kong dollar bank draft drawn on a Hong Kong bank, or by a Hong Kong dollar cheque in Hong Kong, which must be crossed and drawn in favour of "The University of Hong Kong". An acknowledgement card is issued on receipt of the application.

Students may send us the applicaton start in January each year. The closing dates for MSc(Eng) programmes are:First round: March 15, 2013
Second round: Apirl 30, 2013

September 2013Programme Fees
For students admitted in and/or after the academic year 2012-2013, the programme fees of the programme are: HK$87,600.
The composition fee for each module is HK$7,300. The 4-module project, which counts as four modules, has a composition fee of $29,200. The total composition fees for the two study modes are therefore as follows:
12 modules mode:
HK$7,300 x 12 = HK$87,600
8 modules + 4-module project:
(HK$7,300 x 8) + (HK$7,300 x 4) = HK$87,600
Fees for enrolled modules are paid at the beginning of each semester. Once an offer of admission is accepted, applicants must pay the appropriate composition fees.
