Problem-Based Learning Tutorial #2
Our second problem-based learning tutorial will be held this Friday, November 12, in James Lee Science Building, Rm. 04, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
The tutorial will count for 5% of your course grade. Grading will be done on a group basis. Remember to bring a notebook for the tutorial, as web access will be allowed.
Final Assessment
This will be held on Tuesday, November 30. Please follow the critera and expectations that we have gone over in the class.

- Sept 14 -- Quiz #1
- Sept 28 -- Quiz #2
- Oct 8 -- Problem-based learning tutorial #1
- Nov 2 -- Interim demo
- Nov 12 -- Problem-based learning tutorial #2
- Nov 30 -- Final assessment
GRADING
Each team's final grade for this course will be determined based on their performance in the following areas:
Quizzes (10%)
- Two open-book quizzes will be given on the technical contents (5% each)
- Format: True or false questions, plus one long question
Problem-Based Learning Tutorials (10%)
- Two roundtable-style tutorials on solving situational case studies in project design (5% each)
- You are required to actively participate during these sessions
Interim Demo (Pass/Fail)
- If you fail this assessment, your final grade will not be higher than C
- Consist of a live demo followed by a question period
Final Demo (80%)
- Formal demonstration of your final design's performance
- Each group also needs to hand in a five-page technical report and a two-page user manual
- Your completed device and software codec will be assessed by the teaching staff too
