Vincent is very keen in research. He proposed a number of interesting Final-Year, Master, University or externally funded research project. Some of his projects are in close collaboration with several recognized local or overseas institutions such as

Final-Year Project (FYP) Proposals in HKU (2001 – NOW):

Selected Projects in HKU (2001 – NOW) :

o       The Pen-Based COMPAD platform (to support education and research in computer systems) [awarded by the MSRA, 2008 – 09];

o       An Interactive Learning (inLearn) platform (based on Web 2.0 technologies);

o       A Mobile Learning System for Writing Chinese Characters on Ultra-Mobile PCs (Final Year Project, 2008/09, completed by Mr. Kai Wing Yeung, ** won the eInnovation Competition Award - Student Project in the 2009 International Conference on ICT in Teaching and Learning (ICT2009));

o       Application of wireless sensors to monitor the efficiency of workflow (Final Year Project: 2007/08, completed by Mr. Johnny Yeung)

o       A Mobile Quiz Platform (for the Beijing Olympic 2008)

o       An Inter-School Mobile Quiz Competition (in July, 2008)

University Funded Research Project in NUS (1998 – 2000):

  • FRC-approved project - "Solving Constrained Optimization Problems with Lagrangian Based Search Methods" (99-01)
  • FRC-approved project - "A New and Systematic Approach for Interactive Graph Layout Adjustment" (in collaboration with the CSO-Ministry of Defence, 2000)
