Sample applications

LaTeX source

  • You should use the LaTeX source file FT-sample.tex for consistency.

  • Make sure we can process your resulting LaTeX and graphics files to generate the PDF file. If you do not have experience with LaTeX, you can ask the TAs for help.

Submission information

Hi,

This is a reminder that the “one-page Fourier transform application”, which accounts for 15% of your grade, is due on October 8 (midnight). Instruction is given at http://www.eee.hku.hk/~work8501/app.html.

You should submit by sending an email to work8501@eee.hku.hk. In your email, please state:

  • The title (e.g. Fourier Transform in Computed Tomography)

  • Your name (e.g. Edmund Lam)

  • Your agreement that we can post your work in http://www.eee.hku.hk/~work8501/app.html. In fact, the default is that we will do so if we do not receive any objection from you; if you do object, please provide reasons and the TAs will look into them (valid reason includes, e.g. it contains work that you intend to file a patent).

As attachment to your email, please provide:

  • a pdf file (e.g. FT-CT.pdf) that we can use directly

  • the latex source file, bearing the same name (e.g. FT-CT.tex). Make sure that we can latex your file without including custom style files, except those that are found in a standard distribution such as MiKTeX.

  • any individual graphics files, which you should also name in accordance with your main file name (e.g. FT-CT-fig1.eps). Your latex file should assume that your image file(s) are in the same directory.

Please make every effort to abide by these rules. When in doubt, you should contact the TAs. Deliberate disregard for these guidelines will result in penalty for your grade. Thank you.
