Ricky Yu-Kwong KWOK


Ricky is an associate professor in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Before joining HKU, he was a visiting scholar at Purdue University from August 1997 to July 1998. During his sabbatical leave year (from August 2004 to July 2005), he served as a visiting associate professor at the University of Southern California (USC). Recently (from 2007 to 2009), he worked as an associate professor at the Colorado State University (CSU). Currently, he is serving as an adjunct professor of Shanghai University and Shenzhen University.

He received his B.Sc. degree in computer engineering from HKU in 1991, the M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 1994 and 1997, respectively.

Ricky now serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing as the Subject Area Editor in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Computing. He is also serving as a member of the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Sensor Networks. Ricky is a Senior Member of the ACM and the IEEE. He is also a member of the IEEE Computer Society and the IEEE Communications Society.

His recent research endeavors are mainly related to incentive, dependability, and security issues in wireless networks and P2P systems, and resource management in dynamically reconfigurable chip multiprocessors.

Ricky received the Outstanding Young Researcher Award from HKU in November 2004.
