Brief biography

Y. William Li, Ph.D., received his B. Eng. from The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam; M.S., M.Phil., and Ph.D. from Columbia University, New York. His research focuses on low-power, mixed-signal circuit designs in leading-edge CMOS technologies and their applications in microprocessors and biomedical areas.

William was a Croucher Foundation Scholarship receipient. Besides, he was twice the winner in the design contest of ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Low Power Electronics and Design. He had authored a best-paper runner-up in IEEE International Symposium on Asynchronous Circuits and Systems, and an annual top-read in IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits.

When he was working at The University of Hong Kong, he taught a graduate class in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. What's more, he had worked in IBM Research, Yorktown Heights, NY, in the low-power circuit division. While he was affiliated with Motorola, he received an Engineering Excellence Award and disclosed several patents. He is now with a semiconductor company in Hillsboro, OR. Meanwhile, he serves as the program committee member of IEEE International Conference of Computer Design, and ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Low Power Electronics and Design.

William is a Christian. He was an active member of the Columbia Cantonese Christian Fellowship, and he is attending a Chinese Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Portland, OR. He enjoys jogging and hiking in his spare time.
