Magnetic resonance technology at low field (LF,~0.5 T) and ultra low field (ULF, ~1 nT) is a rapidly growing area of research. It has wide applications in biology, medicine, petroleum, rubber industry and so on. What is the current development of LF/ULF-MR technology? What are the bottlenecks in this field? What are its future applications and prospects? This talk will review LF/ULF-MR technology development, with the introduction of the related research works in Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Biography of the speaker:
Dr. Xiaodong YANG, is a Professor of Medical Physics, and the Director of the Department of Medical Imaging in Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology (SIBET), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received the Ph.D. degree in Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, China in 2005, and then worked as visiting scholar in Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, Australia and Technical University in Munich, Germany from 2005 to 2011. His research interests are medical imaging techniques and device development, including MRI, X-ray, and nuclear medicine imaging.
