The integration energy and information technology has prompted the development of the multi-carrier energy system. Therefore, it is important to study how to formulate and optimize operation state of the multi-carrier energy system model.This presentation introduces two typical multi-carrier energy system models: energy hub and detailed multi-carrier energy system model. The standardized multi-step modelling method and linearized optimization method for the energy hub model is introduced in the first part. In the second part, the detailed multi-carrier energy system model modelling and its calculation method based on second-order cone (SOC) relaxation method is discussed.


Biography of the speaker:

Tianhao Liu (M’17) was born in Shanxi, China,.in 1990. He received the B.Eng. degrees and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and automation from the College of Electrical Engineering, North China Electric Power University, Beijing, China, in2013 and 2016, respectively. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with Hong Kong University, Hong Kong. After graduation with the M.S. degree, he joined the Southern Power Grid Research Institute of China as an Electrical Engineer in 2017. His research interests include motor system optimal operation, the modeling and optimization of multiple energy systems, and the energy market.
