W Choi<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eee.hku.hk\/~hwchoi\/\">Semiconductor Lighting and Display Laboratory<\/a> aims to develop cutting-edge microLED technologies based on III-Nitride semiconductors via a top-down fabrication approach. Here we investigate contemporary and intriguing research topics including solid-state lighting, optical resonance and micro-cavities, nanophotonics, and laser processing of optical materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Choi&#8217;s major contributions include design and implementation of the stacked LED structure for polychromatic or color-tunable emission, 3-D shaping of LED chips with laser processes as well as GaN-on-Si pivoted microcavities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Led by Prof. Anthony H.
