3G Mobile Application Project exhibited in the PT/EXPO COMM CHINA

The project “3G Mobile Quiz Challengers for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Game” was one of the winning TD-SCDMA Application awards by the Hong Kong Wireless Development Center (HKWDC). Consequently, the project was selected by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council as one of the exhibits in the Hong Kong pavilion and also selected as an 3G application showcase at Datang Telecom pavilion in the PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2007, the largest telecom exhibition in China, from October 23-26, 2007.

The EXPO was held in the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. There were over 370 thousand attendees from throughout China and the Pacific Rim with more than 800 exhibitors from over 30 countries around the world. The EXPO was supported by many major organizations including the Chinese Ministry of Information Industry, US Department of Commerce, Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and many China operators such as the China Telecom, China Netcom, China Mobile and China Unicom, etc.

Dr. S.W. Cheung, Dr. V.W.L. Tam and Dr. W.W.T Fok, as the project team members, from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of The University of Hong Kong had attended the EXPO. They interflowed with the major exhibitors and promoted the Department to the telecom industry from the rest of the world. Other team members, Dr. K.S. Lui, Dr. Beta Yip and Miss Jade Wong, stayed in Hong Kong to ensure the project was up and running smoothly.
