Share of thoughts by Mr Hui:

To be honest, I was overwhelmed to realize I was being selected as one of the finalists – particularly being an ‘average’ student in this department.

The opportunities of participating such event is very rare in Hong Kong. It was certainly a disappointing result that I was not the winner of this final, but I am very grateful for everything that happened to me. For example, the hospitalities provided by INFINITI, which included flight tickets, 2-days staying in a 5-star hotel, was unrivalled. Moreover, the people I met was the main factor that made this final so special to me; without doubt, I met other finalists who shared the same enthusiasm on cars with me, and the judges, who are the engineers, Talent Acquisition Manager from Nissan and Renault F1 Team, were the most caring and wonderful interviewers I have met in my life. Unlike the interviewers in Hong Kong who asked the interviewees to wait for further updates after the interview, the judges from the final gave a lot of valuable advices after the final, on the subject of career, studying and most importantly, the areas to be improved during the interview.

“If you can be a part of the final, you have already won”, said by Tommaso Volpe, Director Global Motorsport and Performance Projects at Infiniti Motor Company Ltd. during the recruitment talk held in HKU on 16 April, 2018 – Now I truly understand the meaning of his words.
