Gordon is an EEE alumnus and is now studying for his MPhil. studies under the supervisor of Dr. Kenneth Wong and Dr. Anthony Choi. His research is on light-emitting diode (LED) structure, including geometrical shaping of LED for higher efficiency, and also photonic crystal structure for enhancing light extraction in LED and to achieve lasing on GaN material. The Croucher Cambridge International Scholarship, awarded jointly by the Croucher Foundation and the Cambridge Overseas Trust, will support him to pursue full-time PhD degree studies in semi-polar/non-polar nitride materials for ultra-violet and green LEDs, at the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, University of Cambridge, UK.
Congratulations to Gordon for receiving the prestigious award and wish him all the best for his future studies in Cambridge.
