Outstanding Young Researcher Award

Dr. Edmund Lam has been honored the Outstanding Young Researcher Award 2007-2008 for the international recognition of his research accomplishments, the quality and quantity of his research publications, ability to attract research grants (taking into account the prestige of the funding bodies and the size of the grants awarded), and his involvement in high-impact applied research work.

Dr. Edmund Lam is currently an Associate Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, as well as the Medical Engineering Program, at the University of Hong Kong. He is also the founding director of The Imaging Systems Laboratory. His research interests include computational optics and imaging, particularly their applications in semiconductor manufacturing and biomedical systems. He is also an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems and has twice been a guest editor of the Multidimensional Systems and Signal Processing journal published by Springer. He is a senior member of IEEE, and a member of OSA and SPIE.
