EV interest group won the 2nd place in the Class 2 Design Competition at Formula Student UK 2019

Congratulations to our Electric Vehicle Student Interest Group – HKU Racing Team for the great achievement: Second place in the Class 2 Design Competition at Formula Student UK 2019.

Formula Student UK 2019 was held in Silverstone Circuit, UK on 19-21 July 2019. The competition is the most established educational engineering competition in Europe. The aims are to develop enterprising and innovative young engineers and encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering. Class 2 is a concept design competition. Each team needs to produce a design report for a single-seat race car. The car must be low in cost, easy to maintain and reliable with high performance in terms of its acceleration, braking and handling qualities. During the competition, teams are evaluated on engineering design, cost & manufacturing, and business presentation. Each team goes through a rigorous interview. Over 35 University teams around Europe participated in this competition including the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, University College London and The University of Edinburgh.
