Joined Google after summer intern in Seattle

Our 2008 Computer Engineering graduate, Mr. Lam Hin Chung, Alpha, got an advance offer from Google in Seattle while he was working as a summer intern after an exchange program in the United State during his second year of study. He will join Google in Seattle in the coming October. Alpha joined the Global Engineering Education Exchange program in September 2006 and studied in the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. After studying for three quarters at the University of Washington, Alpha got an opportunity to do internship at Google at Seattle. Alpha gained wide exposure and deep insight into this worldwide top IT company. After a few months of hard-work on a computer vision project, Alpha demonstrated his talents and capability and successfully secured an attractive offer from Google well before his graduation. If we go by similar examples of our graduates joining top IT enterprises, the total annual package offered to Alpha would be over HK$600K per annum. This success story highlighted the importance of Industrial Training and summer internship, which could strengthen our students’ competitiveness in their future career development. Alpha had a great time during his exchange studies and overseas summer internship. (Click here to read more about his exciting experience in Seattle.)
