The Champion of the IEEE (HK) CI Postgraduate Paper Competition 2012-2013

Mr. Jian DU, an EEE Ph.D. student supervised by Dr. Y.C. WU, won the Champion of the 7th Postgraduate Paper Contest organized by the IEEE (Hong Kong) Computational Intelligence (CI) Chapter for his excellent work on “Distributed Clock Skew and Offset Estimation in Wireless Sensor Networks with Belief Propagation: Asynchronous Algorithm and Convergence Analysis”.

Besides, Dr. Vincent TAM’s M.Sc. student (Mr. Zhixi LI) also obtained the 2nd runner-up in the same competition for his work on “Applying Heuristic Optimization and Cloud Computing to Investment Opportunity Forecasting”.

The 7th IEEE (Hong Kong) CI Postgraduate Paper Contest was held in the Hong Kong Baptist University on September 7, 2013. Each year, there will be entries from different universities in Hong Kong, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Each submitted project/paper went through a review process by the panel consisting of experts in the area of computational intelligence.
