MSc graduate Xue Zian, Li Ziwei and Zhang Xinyi won the Second prize in the 6th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

Our MSc EEE graduate Xue Zian, Li Ziwei and Zhang Xinyi won the Second prize in the 6th Hong Kong for their MSc dissertation project called “ReBot. The team has also been nominated and represented HKSAR and HKU in China International College Students “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition. The idea in the project also eventually turned into a collaborative project with the HKU Stroke in the Department of Medicine and awarded the ITF Better Living Fund project.

“ReBot” was born during the outbreak of COVID-19, realizing remote rehabilitation for patients at home. With the help of artificial intelligence and computer vision, “ReBot” can provide real-time feedback to patients when they are doing rehabilitation one their owns.

 

It is like a private coach, and this is why the team names it as the “REhabilitation roBOT (ReBot)”.
