An Invited Sharing Session in the Apple Learning Workshop

Dr. Vincent Tam was invited as a guest speaker in the Apple Learning Workshop held on June 8, 2012 to share about his team (including Dr. K.S. Lui and Dr. E. Lam)’s valuable experiences of participating in the Apple iOS Developer University Program (iDUP), and more importantly how to develop a series of interesting and optional training workshops on iOS app development for EEE, HKU Engineering, HKU-SPACE and even secondary school students through the Department’s supports and also the iDUP scheme, and later evolved into various activities including an open competition in collaboration with the HKFYG for smartphone app development, and also a Special Interest Group (SIG) on Mobile App Development to work with NGOs for meaningful projects on community services / knowledge exchange. The workshop was attended and well received by 30+ participants coming from various tertiary institutes such as the City University of HK, School of Continuing and Professional Studies of CUHK, and the Caritas Institute of Higher Education. Several EEE students including Mr. Kevin Wong (Dr. KS Lui’s FYP student) and Mr. Frankie Chan (a member of the SIG) were also invited to share about their interesting projects on mobile apps during the sharing session.

Dr. Vincent Tam shared about their development experience through the Apple iDUP in the Dept. of EEE in HKU since 2010.
