The EEE Department offers research-based postgraduate programmes in both master and Ph.D. level:
- Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Students who hold a Bachelor’s degree with honours and/or a taught Master’s degree will normally be considered for admission to a 4-year PhD programme. Students who hold a research Master’s degree will be admitted to a 3-year PhD programme.
Admitted candidates must follow an approved course of study and complete their study under the supervision of at least one research supervisor. For a list of potential research supervisor, please refer to the faculty research interest page.

Candidates are required to make an oral presentation of their research proposal as part of the procedure for the confirmation of candidature. Each candidate is also required to give at least one research seminar before submission of thesis title. Please click here for more details.
