During his Ph.D. candidature, Vincent was awarded with 3 scholarships and also a fellowship for attending a logic summer school. His Ph.D. research project was directly supported by an Australian Research Council (ARC) approved research grant, and also initiated two large-scale research projects for its applications. From 1998 - 2001, he was an Academic Fellow in the Department of Computer Science in the National University of Singapore (NUS) where Vincent was the winner of the Innovative Teaching Award (2000) among 80+ academic staff in the School of Computing, NUS. He is currently a Principal Lecturer and also Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the University of Hong Kong. In addition, Dr. Tam has been serving as the Director of Course Enrolment since 2004. Furthermore, he was awarded with the Faculty Best Teacher Award (2010), Faculty Outstanding Teaching (Team) Award (2013), Faculty Outstanding Teaching (Individual) Award (2017), the Faculty Outstanding Teaching (Team) Award (2019), and the Fellowship (FHEA) of the AdvanceHE (formerly as the Higher Education Academy) (2019). Dr. Tam has over 190+ internationally refereed publications, including 10 book chapters and 37 journal papers.
